Basketball is one of the most popular team sports in the world. A formal game consists of  two teams of five playing against each other. The objective of the game is to shoot a ball through the oppponent's basket to score points. The team who scores the most points before time expires is considered as winner.

The Student Basketball Club, HKUSTSU Members with outstanding talent or ability may be recruited to participate in the HKUST University Team tryouts. Selected Members will have the chance to represent the University to compete in inter-varsity competitions.
