Swimming is the skill of self propulsion of a person through water. It is amongst the top recreational activities undertaken by the public nowadays. There are four major swimming styles: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. Since swimming is considered as a formalized sport,  swimming lessons are a general part of the educational curriculum over the world .

The Students’ Swimming Club, HKUSTSU was founded in 2006. Outstanding Club Members will be recruited to be Members of HKUST Swimming Team and represent the University to compete in inter-varsity competitions. They have been achieving “breakthrough “ to earn a good fame among Club Members. The Team strives for success, breakthrough and pushing the limits further. Nevertheless, The Club welcomes HKUST students to train together and maintain a healthy lifestyle. In the times to come, the Club hopes the members can shine at University Games, Asian Games, and other international events.
