Badminton is a racquet sport where the objective is to score points by using your racket to strike the shuttlecock over a dividing net and have it land on the opposing half. It may be played by either by two (singles) or four players (doubles). One of the unique attribute of badminton is the shuttlecock (or shuttle), which has feathers and causes its projectile be different compared to balls that are often found in racquet sports. Badminton may be played as a casual recreational activity or a competitive sport.
The Students' Badminton Club, HKUSTSU was founded in 1992. Outstanding club members will be recruited to be members of HKUST Badminton Team and represent the University to compete in inter-varsity competitions. The club is recognized to be one of the mostly welcome sports societies in HKUST.
