Table Tennis is a racquet sports demanding quick reactions. Either one (singles) or two (doubles) players on both end of the table target to hit a light and hollow ball toward them with only one bounce on their side and return to the oppsite side. Points are rewarded when the opponent fails to return the ball within the rules.

The Table Tennis Club, HKUSTSU was founded in 1992. It is one of the popular Sports Clubs in HKUST. Outstanding Club Members will be recruited to be Members of HKUST Table Tennis Teams and represent the University to compete in inter-varsity competitions. Almost every year, the Club has exchange-in members coming from different parts of the world, joining the practices and exchanging ways to improve the skills. The Club also has members participating in national university games and various local events.
