Handball is a team sport where the objective of the game is to throw the ball into the goal of the opposing team. A typical match is played with two teams of seven players each for two 30-minute periods. The winner is the team that scores more goals. Handball emphasizes speed and the pace of games are rapid. Usually there will be at least 20 goals for each team.
The Handball Club, HKUSTSU was founded in 1993, while the Team was established in 1994 and took part in Intervarsity Competitions the same year. Until now, Members of HKUST Handball Club are recognized among top local handball players.
Outstanding Club Members will be recruited to be Members of HKUST Handball Team and may compete in various competitions.
