A Dark experience gives you a new perspective on your senses!
What is life without sight? Dialogue in the Dark Tour takes you from the sighted world into complete darkness, moving through simulated daily environments with a cane and exploring the unseen, escorted by visually impaired guides. You will have a chance to challenge your other senses of hearing, touch, smell, and even taste to 'see'. Grab this opportunity to deepen your understanding of visually impaired people!
如果失去視力，生活會變成怎樣？「黑暗中對話」體驗之旅將領你離開熟悉的光明世界，走進全然漆黑的環境。在視障導賞員的陪同下，你將手持導盲杖，穿梭於模擬日常生活場景之中，探索平日未曾留意的感官世界。在黑暗裡，你將有機會挑戰自己的聽覺、觸覺、嗅覺，甚至味覺，以另一種方式去「看見」周遭環境，親身體驗視障人士如何感知和探索世界。把握這個難得的機會，跳出慣常視角，加深對視障人士的了解，並重新發現感官的無限可能！

Remark:1. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email from connect@ust.hk and will be able to find their application status listed as "Confirmed" on the Social Career portal/app.
2. [Penalty for withdrawal after 18 Nov and/or absence] The event is fully subsidized by HKUST Connect. If you are unable to participate in the event as schedule, you should send us a written notification to connect@ust.hk as soon as possible, but no later than 18 Nov 2026 (Wed). Students who withdrawn after the deadline or absent from the event will be charged a HKD150 program fee.
3. [HMAW1905] This is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. You need to attend the event in full to get 2.25 hours.
