We cordially invite you to join us at the Launch Ceremony of the 35th Anniversary (35A) of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).The Ceremony will mark the commencement of our year-long 35th Anniversary celebrations, to be followed by a series of activities and events under the theme “Where Miracles Happen”. We are excited to invite applications for the 2nd Beijing Flag-raising Exchange Trip for University Students 2026. This meaningful event is organized by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association, with support from Bank of China (Hong Kong), for students from 10 Hong Kong universities. It offers a unique opportunity for participants to witness flag-raising at Tiananmen Square in a prestigious area, follow by the Tiananmen Flag Guard Team's close-up demonstrations and exchange.Trip dates: 31 May – 4 June 2026 (5 days)Eligibility: Full-time HKUST students of Chinese nationality who can speak PutonghuaCommitment: Attendance required at all pre- and post-trip training sessions, as well as the full tripParticipation fee: HK$3,000- Outstanding participants who are invited to join the HKUST Flag Guard Team will receive a HK$2,000 subsidy from the University.- Eligible local students may also apply for further subsidies from the government.- Details will be provided upon admission.Remarks- Limited quota. We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Leadership Advancement Program for Student Organizations (LAPSO) Award Scheme 2025-26 opens now. This award scheme aims to recognize and celebrate student organizations that demonstrate outstanding management, creativity, innovation, and a positive impact on the university or the community.Eligibility: Registered Student Organizations (i.e. SU, SU-affiliated Societies, Department-associated Groups)To apply for the award, please read through the application guidelines for details. Applicants need to complete an online application form for The Outstanding Student Organization /  The Innovative Student-led Activity of the Year and attach supplementary materials by 9 March 2026.
