Dear HKUST Members,

We are proud to share that the HKUST Flag Guard Team achieved excellent results in their first participation in the Flag Raising Competition (全民國家安全教育日-香港青少年軍升國旗比賽) organized by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association on 12 April 2026.

Our team won a Silver Award (Ceremonial March) 大專及大學組–正步組 and a Bronze Award (Synchronized March) 大專及大學組–齊步組 in the "Tertiary and University Category".

The students demonstrated great dedication and teamwork, bringing well-deserved pride to HKUST. And, two alumni trainers Ms LI Ailin and Ms YEUNG Jasmine Yat Yau provided invaluable coaching throughout the preparation for the competition.

About the Competition
The National Security Education Day Hong Kong Army Cadets Flag-raising Competition is an annual event held to mark National Security Education Day on 15 April. This year, the competition brought together over 400 young participants from university, secondary and primary school flag guard teams to showcase their marching and flag-raising skills.
