Sports and wellness play an important role in our students’ education at HKUST as they are instrumental to effective learning and whole person development. All new UG students, in their first year of study, are required to take the sports skill class under the Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness (HMAW1905) to learn how to maintain a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle that will help them to effectively manage their life, learning and work.
Sports can also bring students together in a spirit of belonging, dedication and good fun. There are currently over 30
Sports Clubs that organize various sports activities for students to enhance their sports skills, practice sportsmanship, perseverance and teamwork, and over 50 HKUST
Sports Teams formed by enthusiastic participants of inter-collegiate, local and international sports competitions. In order to honor the dedication, sportsmanship and achievements of past and present athletes from the university community, the
