Dance facilitates the development of body control, rhythmical sense, agility and balancing ability. Musical theatre dance is a dance-based class comprising instruction on simple vocal and dramatic exercises with various dance styles. Class activities include the historical introduction of Broadway and West End Musicals, the minor singing and acting techniques along with the dance steps drawing from established repertoire in the musical theatre genre, as well as original choreographic works.
This class is designed for beginners who may have no dance training experience. The dance experience provided in the class would emphasize on exploring interest and fun in Broadway music and the various styles of dance from Jazz, Latin to funky dances based on the story of the musical.
Participants should wear loose fit dance or sports attire which enables free body movement. Footwear should be Jazz dance shoes or non-marking sports shoes.
